Why Japanese?

Because my family travels to Japan on a regular basis for vacation, I have always been very fascinated with Japanese culture and language. I have been to many different places including Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Okinawa in Japan ever since I was young (like 5 years old). These trips really inspired me to want to learn more about the culture and the language. However, I have never really found the time self learn the language or take a class on it. During my senior year, as my course load lightened, I have finally decided to take Japanese! So far in the semester, I have thoroughly enjoyed the class.

In terms of the class, I think that the pace of the class right now is perfect. I am learning a lot about Japanese on a daily basis, and I definitely feel that I have made some significant progress over the past few weeks. One particularly aspect of language learning I am really excited about is practicing conversation. I can't wait until I can hold a casual conversation with a native speaker. Even though this will probably take a lot of time and effort, I am sure it will be worth it in the long run. I really look forward to continuing to learn Japanese with Park せんせい!
